Spiritual Center and How to Reconnect to It
by Irwin on Oct.06, 2009, under Spiritual
Whenever a person is disconnected from his spiritual center, there is a tendency for him to feel lost and sad. As a result of this depressed feeling, many people tend to be angry, sad, and unhealthy and they suffer from a general feeling of malaise. In fact, there are some people who even feel alone in the world even if they are surrounded by their loved ones. If you are already feeling the above emotions, you probably need to start reconnecting with your spiritual source. Don’t know what to do? Just read on.
The first step in reconnecting with your inner core is accepting the fact that you have been disconnected from your spiritual center. One of the first steps to recovery is to accept your present state. The next thing you need to do is to determine the causes of your emotions and feelings. Why have you disconnected yourself from your spiritual source? You may be having problems with finances or your relationships. However, the only way you can get back on your feet is to stop reminding yourself of the hurt that you have felt all your life. Remember that every time you think about your sad story, you are only reinforcing the bad and negative emotions that you are currently feeling.
How will you be able to snap out of your sadness and depression, and reconnect with your spiritual center? Well, you have to put your mind into something that is positive and enjoyable. Do not wallow in your suffering and self pity. You really do not have to spend a lot of money just to entertain yourself. There are many ways in which you can make yourself happy. Gazing at the trees, watching children play, and treating yourself to a sweet fruit are all inexpensive and easy ways to shift your emotions to something that is beautiful and enjoyable. Apart from this, you can also start meditating or performing health yoga.
Establishing the connection with your spiritual center cannot be done in a snap. You need to accept the fact that you need to allow time to help heal your wounds. Do not be impatient. You will slowly but surely find a way that will lead to your inner core if you just continue to meditate and leave your hurtful past behind. One of the things that can help hasten your healing is to disconnect yourself from the people who are pulling you down and are pessimistic about life.
Spiritual Center Discovered Through Yoga and Meditation
by Irwin on Oct.06, 2009, under Spiritual
Regardless of the ancient traditions practiced in different nations, you will see that one of the things that are common among them is the search for a spiritual center or a connection with a higher being. Even in modern times, you will see that the majority of people all over the world are still spending their time and energy in discovering their inner spirituality. Whatever your belief is, you will surely agree that practicing meditation and yoga is quite important in order for you to find your inner peace. Here are some of the things you need to consider in order to achieve success in reconnecting to your spiritual core.
A lot of people have unhappy lives because their mind and spirit are in chaos due to stress and sufferings. If you want to feel happy, young and healthy, you should not only pay attention to what you eat and drink, but you ought to think about your emotional and spiritual health as well. You need to use meditation, even for just a few minutes a day, in order to fight stress. It would be very hard for anybody to discover their spiritual center if the mind and spirit are in a state of disarray.
Another way in which you can find your spiritual center through meditation is by spending a quiet time for a few minutes each day. This time should be devoted to you and your relationship to a higher being. A lot of people are so busy with raising a family, getting ahead in their careers or making money to achieve their goals that they often forget about themselves. Not many are aware that looking inside and knowing themselves is crucial in finding the inner center or spiritual core.
If you look at ancient traditions, you will realize that it is the aim of those people to become well rounded persons. This means that you should not only concentrate in improving your mental or emotional aspects. You also have to take time in improving your physical health. However, you need to look for a way in which you can boost your health and at the same time discover your spirit center. The best option for you to take is yoga, an old art of proper breathing and proper alignment of the body. Yoga will not only strengthen your body and muscles, but through the rhythmic breathing, you can also achieve peace of mind.
Spiritual Center Myths About Meditation
by Irwin on Oct.06, 2009, under Spiritual
It is without a doubt that you can achieve your spiritual center with the help of meditation. Since the practice of meditation is more renowned in the East, many people from the West have a lot of misconceptions and myths about this type of activity. If you are really interested in gaining inner peace and finding your spiritual core, it is important that you fully understand what meditation is all about. What better way for you to learn more about meditation is there than by debunking the myths that you have held for a long time?
Myth1. Meditation can only be performed in the seating position.
At mere mention of the word meditation, people often conjure up an image of a man sitting cross legged, eyes closed, and repeating the word “OM” several times. Although this is a good way to meditate to find your spiritual center, you should also realize that there are many other ways and positions you can perform in order to attain a meditative state. The main goal of meditation is to achieve an altered state of consciousness. Some people can meditate while they are inside the bus, while others can achieve this state while walking around the park or beach. Whatever your actions are, you can go into a meditative state and discover your inner core.
Myth 2. Meditation can only be achieved through prolonged practice.
If you invite people to meditate, you will often hear them say that they would rather not because they do not have time and they are very busy. A common misconception is that you need to master the art of meditation from India before you can really achieve inner peace and find your spiritual center. In reality, however, you do not need formal training in order to know how to use the power of meditation to achieve inner peace and relieve stress. Just a few minutes in a flower garden or just by looking at the sky for a couple of minutes will help you achieve a higher state of consciousness.
Myth 3. Meditation is not for me.
Since people associate meditation with hippy or new age beliefs, many feel that meditation is not something that they need. Come to think of it, praying is actually a form of meditation. And besides, in a chaotic and stressful environment, the only way in which you can discover yourself and find your spiritual center is by spending a few minutes a day alone and in a quiet place.
Spiritual Center Achieved Via Different Meditation Methods
by Irwin on Oct.06, 2009, under Spiritual
For thousands of years, meditation has been used as a vehicle to reach the spiritual center of the people from the East. Nowadays, however, people from the West are also discovering meditation, yoga and other ancient traditions of the East. It seems that the desire for achieving contentment and inner peace is gaining momentum particularly because the modern world is so fast-paced and stressful. One thing you need to remember is that there are many ways in which you can do your meditation. There is no single position or method that is better than others. Below are some of the most common meditation methods that you can perform easily.
One of the most popular meditation methods is the sitting meditation. You can easily achieve an altered state and reach your spiritual center by sitting in one area without moving. This would be best achieved in a room or place that is peaceful and silent. Some people play soft background music so that they won’t fall asleep during the process. The key to being successful with your meditation is to find a sitting position that best suits you. You can either seat on the floor with your legs crossed or you can sit comfortably on a chair with a cushion.
If you feel that you cannot do meditation on your own, you can always try the guided meditation method. This simply means that you are trying to discover your spiritual center and achieve an altered state of consciousness with the help of a teacher. You really do not have to attend a meditation session in person. There are many tapes and CDs that will teach you to achieve inner peace through affirmations and positive feedback instead of visualization. This meditation method is best for people who need to boost self confidence and forget their negative emotional baggage.
Believe it or not, healthy yoga is also one way of achieving peace and meditation. If you think that the breathing and stretching exercises are only aimed at increasing flexibility and improving physical health, then you are mistaken. Yoga is also an effective method in helping you discover your inner spiritual center. The main purpose of yoga is to achieve peace and stillness through the proper alignment of your body. Come to think of it, many mentalists and circus performers use yoga in order to train their minds to transcend fear, discomfort and pain while they are performing difficult tasks. So you may want to consider integrating yoga and meditation into your lifestyle as well.
Spiritual Center Alignment Through Yoga
by Irwin on Oct.06, 2009, under Spiritual
Alignment is a word that many of us would not connect to spiritual center. In fact, we would probably associate alignment with what needs to be done in order to make a car safe and less wobbly on the road. In reality, however, the alignment of the spinal column, the very essence of yoga, is also important in achieving a spiritual core or inner peace. Aside from the physical benefits of the proper alignment of the body, you can also derive mental clarity and emotional peace through yoga. Do not think that the yoga positions that you see in the movies or television are merely created to provide discomfort or to achieve flexibility. Every yoga position, whether basic or advanced, is backed by centuries of practice and discipline.
Many people think that yoga is simply following a series of techniques. Although it is true that yoga positions can be achieved physically, these are not really enough to help in the alignment of your spiritual center. In a physical sense, alignment simply means the vertical position of a limb or bone. In the spiritual sense, it means achieving inner peace and harmony. It is important to note, however, that in order for people to achieve complete harmony and peace, they should first achieve physical alignment of their spinal column.
It is without a doubt that yoga is truly useful in letting you find your spiritual center. However, you should also accept the fact that yoga is not an easy thing to master. You need to start from the very basic before you can try to perform more advanced positions. It would be best that you enroll in a yoga class so that you will learn the right moves from a certified instructor. Many people get hurt or injured by doing yoga on their own because they are not doing the positions properly or they are overexerting their muscles. Remember that it is hard to achieve harmony if there is discomfort or pain. Only yoga masters can teach the mind to transcend the pain and discomfort so the body can still achieve inner center.
So how can you achieve proper alignment? Do not think that aligning of the parts of your body is something that is subjective. In reality, there is an underlying scientific basis for the proper alignment of the body. In order for you successfully find your spiritual center, you have to follow yoga positions to the letter. So take it slow and steady and before you know it, you’ll be progressing towards your spiritual center.
Spiritual Center and Meditation
by Irwin on Sep.20, 2009, under Spiritual
Spiritual center through meditation is definitely possible and certainly desirable. Learning about meditation techniques can allow you to become aware of yourself as a spiritual being. There are various spiritual exercises that can be done to channel your focus on the right areas of awareness. These techniques are used to implement spirituality into your everyday life. If you already have a spiritual center, you may enjoy learning about how to use meditation to deepen the connection between your mind, body and soul.
Daily Meditation
I believe that it is a very good idea to participate in meditation on a daily basis. Keeping a focus on your own spiritual awareness will help you more effectively deal with physical concerns that come to mind throughout the day. There is a divine and spiritual part of you that is above the physical and it is a very relaxing and awesome place to be. Your times of meditation should be quiet, so that you can concentrate and communicate with your spiritual side. If you are religious, this can be a time for prayer. During meditation, many people have figured out their purpose in life and have even made drastic decisions based on what they have come into understanding about. I like to call this a moment of awakening.
Meditation Benefits
There are various reasons why people meditate. It can be to calm down, heal physical, emotional and mental stress; achieve self-realization and to experience a higher level of consciousness and spirituality. I find it to be a great way to become aware of myself and explore my inner thoughts and feelings. Any time I feel unsure or worried about something, I begin to meditate in order to gain a better understanding of what I feel I should do and what I need to do.
Process of Meditating
Meditating is simple and can be done in your own home. There are spiritual centers all over the U.S. that offer meditation rooms and teach techniques. You can go to an adult education center, meditation schools, and even some religious institutions to learn meditation. But as always, the internet is your best bet to find a school and approach that will fit your needs, interests and temperment. Meanwhile, you can begin meditating in a quiet, low-lit room. If certain sounds sooth you, have them in the room. Experiment a little to see what brings you to that state of mind. For me, I like the soft bouncing light of 2 or 3 candles. I also enjoy the sounds of waves or the rain on CD. Get in touch with who you are, as it is the only way to achieve true happiness in life and reach your spiritual center.
Spiritual Center and Reiki Attunement
by Irwin on Sep.20, 2009, under Spiritual
Getting in touch with your spiritual center is always important for your mind, body and soul’s well-being. It is believed that everyone is born with a connection to a great energy source. Unfortunately, as we get older, we begin to lose that connection due to all of the negativities that we’re introduced to.
Whether it’s substance abuse, negative energy formation, illness, disability or some other physical or emotional problem, barriers are placed in our way that need to be cleared. Once this is done, the channels to this source of energy become blocked. After this occurs, we begin to suffer from emotional, physical and mental problems.
The process of finding and using your spiritual center opens up an area of the mind that allows you to become one with yourself and more observant of what’s around you. Then with the Reiki attunement, you are able to clear that channel that has been blocked for years or even decades. This attunement then allows you to channel that energy you had access to before. With the use of a Reiki master, your top four chakras will be opened. Universal energy is then channeled through your crown chakra (fancy term for head) and flows out from your palms, allowing you to heal those in need.
This may sound a bit amazing to you, but people are born with the natural gift to heal. This is why it is so important to create or attend a physical spiritual center in order to tune in to your spiritual self. There is so much more to you than what you have been led to believe. With the help of a Reiki master, you can become attuned to Reiki and become a Reiki healer. This title basically means that you will be able to channel Reiki energy from your body to heal others. While you’re on level 1 of Reiki, the master will begin attuning you for this.
The Reiki master will also teach you how to use your healing ability to diagnose patients for various ailments and physical disorders. You will clear the aura of the patients you work with in order to heal them. Once you are fully attuned, you will be able to practice healing right away.
I’ve actually seen this process done and it has actually worked to heal small ailments. I personally think that seeing a Reiki healer can be beneficial if you have any physical or mental issues. I definitely say give it a shot.
Spiritual Centers Are Where You Make Them
by Irwin on Sep.04, 2009, under Spiritual
Spiritual centers can be everywhere. Spiritual centers can be made of concrete and glass, carved into the landscape by nature, or in your mind. The bottom line is that spirituality, wellness, self improvement and other inspirational modalities can be found and nurtured anywhere you find them or decide that they work for you.
I remember going to Sedona and visiting the energy vortex’s. We were told that some vortexes were male energy centers and others were female ones. And sure enough, when our tour pulled up at a male energy vortex, our driver immediately got into a hassle with another driver, at which time she asked us whether we had pulled up to a male or female energy vortex area. The entire bus in unison shouted that it was a male one.
So yes, there can be certain places in the world that exude different forms of energy. But I believe that we also create our own energy and spiritual centers. It’s mostly about what we tell ourselves. Just as the placebo effect is very powerful, so is everything else we tell ourselves.
If I believe that a particular rock is a spiritual center for me, and choose to focus on that, then that’s what will be. If I make a part of my backyard, home, office, park or any other place a spiritual center, then that’s my spiritual center.
Internally, we have the same thing going on. I remember freaking my parents out in 1968 when I was meditating, burning candles and jasmine incense, listening to sitar music, with my black light on. Believe me, until they interrupted my rather peaceful moment, I was experiencing a definite spiritual center. And it was fantastic.
I can still recreate that sense of peace, serenity, and oneness. These days my wife and I go to the Bahia Temple to walk in their gardens, or walk on the beach, or even kick back in our backyard to reach my spiritual center. I can also lie down in bed and meditate to find my spiritual center. I’m able to do it anywhere because of what’s going on inside.
External influences such as people, finances, job, mood, relationships, innate maladies, bad decisions I feel I have made, persistent memories, faults and other influences encourage me to stray from my spiritual center.
However, if I can remember that I can find my spiritual center any time, any place and under any circumstance, then I’ll be fine. ‘Fine’ is defined as remembering who I am, what I believe, not being unduly influenced by the moment, connected to nature, G-d, and humanity.
Intuitive, Spiritual Healing Can Produce Huge Results
by Irwin on Jul.11, 2009, under Spiritual
Intuitive Spiritual
The words intuitive spirituality may be hard words to come to terms with for most of us. Spirituality itself may be confusing. According to the dictionary, spirituality is the “attachment to all that concerns the life of the soul.”
Intuitive spirituality involves concerns of the soul coming from a deep knowing within. While all spirituality deals with the non-material, that which is unseen, intuitive spirituality deals with that which is unknown as well. It’s a hard concept to make concrete. True intention can be touched, felt and drawn upon to create a healthy, happy joyful life. Intuitive spirituality is the internal guidance system of knowing, the pure joy of learning and putting into practice the many realms your spirit has traveled. By doing so, as the theory goes, you can release fear and live a truly peaceful, happy life.

Taking control of your life spiritually is the key element of releasing fear. There are many beliefs that need to be set in place in order to achieve this. There is the belief that yes, I can do this. There is the belief that yes, there is a better way. There is the belief that yes, I do want to change my way of being. If and when these beliefs are in place, a magical transformation can start to take place.
For those who are just beginning their journey into self discovery and self healing and who are genuinely ready to make a shift in their lives, intuitive spiritual methods lend you the chance to join in and grow on deeper levels.
A Spa Experience Can Be Spiritual And Beneficial
by Irwin on Jul.11, 2009, under Spiritual
Spa Spiritual
A spa can offer spiritual growth possibilities. Many of us simply don’t see them. Some spas focus on physical and mental health. These are the ones that are most well-known. There are other spas, however, that focus on spiritual health. These are called spiritual spas.
Spiritual spas encourage their visitors to pursue a spiritual journey of introspection and reflection by participating in the activities that are available during their spa visit. The types of activities available depend on the type of spiritual spa you visit.
These can be:
- Techniques for mental meditation and relaxation
- Techniques for physical relaxation
- Spiritual beliefs
- Trauma repair and relief
At these spas, you can involve yourself in relaxing and introspective techniques such as meditation, tai chi, chi gong, yoga, etc. Instructors guide you through these techniques that lead to serenity, understanding, and acceptance. They also teach you to carry these activities into your daily life.
Before visiting a spiritual spa, be sure to determine what spiritual activities the spa focuses on. Persons interested in visiting a spa where they can learn Eastern methods of relaxation are not going to be satisfied with reading the Bible for a week. A spa for spiritual relief or healing should be chosen carefully.
