Tomczyk was able to levitate small objects with her mind’s power. She’d place a hand on either side of the objects and they would begin to hover. Another individual, who is popular and well scrutinized, is Nina Kulagina. She is a Russian woman who was trying to develop other psychic powers when she discovered her ability of telekinesis. Her ability was shown off by moving objects that were nonmagnetic, such as matches, clock pendulums, bread or a salt shaker. This was in the technological age, so it was all captured on video. Skeptics claim that it doesn’t stand up to scientific testing and that she’s just a clever magician.

In the psychic world, you can’t really be a skeptic. This is a closed mind, which is antithetical to the possibility of obtaining full brain power capacities. One of the first steps to developing your mind’s power is to open your mind and believe. The more closed minded you are, the more you’re shutting out the possibility. Unlocking the doorways and boundaries of the mind is easier for some than others. It is said that only a certain percentage of people are able to be hypnotized or to use their mind to attain psychic skills. But perhaps it’s just that some individuals are more tapped into that part of the brain and those others have to work a bit harder. These individuals usually have gifts to connect with the dead, using clairvoyance or psychometry, use items to see things that have happened.

Some people are born with psychic gifts that they use and hone throughout their lives. Then there are others who either develop them later or realize them later in life. Some even obtain them after something traumatic happens, such as a brain injury and where some develop psychic abilities or interests at the very least.

There are non-believers who don’t think people have special abilities and are just equipped with good perception and an ability to read people.
