Your mind power is vast and multifaceted. While many television shows and movies have shown very exaggerated accounts of what the mind can do, many of the theories behind such special-effects phenomena are surprisingly accurate.
While some of the depictions lean more toward the occult, sometimes you will see a telepath honing their skill in a movie, or a clairvoyant struggling to receive even the vaguest of visions. You have to learn how to tap into abilities like psychokinesis before you can really begin to use them.
Psychokinesis is your mind power over physical objects foreign to your body, and is often aligned or confused with a similar psychic talent, telekinesis. The most well-known examples of this ability are objects moving without being touched, only through the power and will of the mind. The term was coined in 1934 by the American author Henry Holt. Throughout history the phenomenon has been both documented and faked, but do not let the phonies discourage your efforts.
Understanding how psychokinesis works is the first step towards understanding how you can use it. Begin by imagining that each person carries an invisible power that is electrically charged. It begins in the brain and moves outward. Consider your mind power, and how the brain holds power over the body.
Your brain responds to synapses by means of small electrical charges. Consider how your brain is, in a way, like an electric generator. Once you have grasped this information, you can move onto thinking about psychokinesis specifically.
Psychokinesis manifests in different ways. The famed Uri Geller is known for bending spoons with his mind, as are many others. There are also psychokinetics who can raise objects from their resting points. One method of actually opening your mind and practicing psychokinesis is to put yourself in a light trance. You could try hypnotizing yourself, or you can achieve this trance state from meditating.
Close your eyes and slowly begin counting backwards from one hundred. This will prepare your mind power to physically exert its will over small objects. Try manipulating the outcome of a roll of a standard pair of dice. Feel free to start with just one die if you feel more comfortable that way. As you shake the dice in your hand, picture the dice rolling. Visualize the number they land on. What does your vision tell you? At this point you should roll the dice and your prediction should become reality.
Should this activity not be successful on the first try, fear not. Even the most brilliant psychokinetics are unable to summon their talents at all points. Keep trying and you should soon notice a growth in your mind power.
