Your psychic psychometry powers are a pretty cool ability to have. If you’ve ever watched Charmed, with the three sisters, Phoebe, Piper and Pru. Phoebe (little girl from Who’s the Boss?) was the one with the psychometry abilities. She was able to touch the items and see things from the object’s past. It could be an image or scene that took place an hour, day or even century before. Supposedly the people that touch the items transmit memories and energy into the objects. Psychometry is the ability to sense or read the past of an object; sometimes by just touching or holding it or by placing it on their forehead. It can bring forth images, smells, tastes sounds and/or emotions. This technique is also known as scrying in the psychic world.
Some psychics are able to scry by using a crystal ball or black glass. Sometimes they can even use a watery surface. Those that possess the powers of psychometry are able to scry through touch. For instance, a psychometrist could touch an antique scarf and be able to tell something about its past, such as the person who owned it or images of experiences the owner had while in possession of the scarf. The psychometrist may also be able to pick up what they did or how they passed away. Essentially, the emotions are strongly felt through the objects that are touched. The psychometrist isn’t always able to do this with the same object. It comes and goes, as with many of the psychic abilities that people possess.
The term psychometry came about in 1842, from an American professor named Joseph R. Buchanan. It stands for soul, meaning and measure. He was also one of the first people to experiment with psychometry. He used his students as subjects. He would place glass vials on a table and ask the students to tell what type of drug was in the vials by simply holding them. He claimed to have great success, Buchanan wrote a book about the phenomenon, stating that all objects have souls that hold memories. Since then, people have been conducting psychometric experiments.
There was once a man named Stefan Ossowiecki. He was a psychic born in Russia. In 1932, he participated in a test of his psychic powers. His ability led him to become a chemical engineer. He would locate lost objects and missing individuals as well. Ossowiecki also helped out on a couple of criminal investigations. The test he took involved him touching a package that belonged to a man named Jonky. Ossowiecki then had to pick out the man from 14 photographs that were presented to him. He got the answer correct. He was even able to point out different details about the man’s life, which were also accurate.
You can develop your psychometric powers by researching the phenomenon and of course practicing and testing your abilities. They will develop over time.
